I look in the mirror
See eyes bright and curious
Smile unjaded
A mismatch of shapes
Curves and
Crudely drawn lines
An artist’s canvas
Splattered with browns and blacks and pinks
Flecks of paint decorating the ground like stars
In a clear sky
Like it’s telling me the space isn’t enough
Like I was made to fly
To break free
A masterpiece
An unyielding silhouette
Brave and cluttered and interesting
So very interesting

And I think to myself–
beautiful.

–Β “What do you see when you look in the mirror?”
